Would you like to go on a cycling trip, but you are not sure which destination is best for you? Well, if you are a lover of sport vacation, the first thing to do is definitely to go to Cyclando.com, the first digital platform that collects the best cycling proposals available throughout Italy and Europe, making them easy to compare and buy directly online. We are sure that you will find bread for your teeth here: not only biking routes on the most beautiful European bike paths, but also mtb or road bike itineraries.
Below we tell you about the 3 bike routes that we have selected for you. Whether you're a fan of the great Classics, a wild mountain biker, or just like to feel the asphalt under your wheels, here are three unmissable adventures you can savor solo or share with whomever you like.
Do you dream of riding in the footsteps of great cyclists? Put yourself to the test on the route of the great classic Strade Bianche. The route starts and returns to Siena and is divided into two glorious stages of about ninety kilometers each, in which dirt stretches alternate with back roads immersed in the spectacular landscapes of Val di Merse, Val d'Orcia and Crete Senesi.
The subdivision into stages, easily ridable by those with a good level of fitness, allows you to fully enjoy the beautiful Tuscan landscapes and villages along the route, such as those of Buonconvento and Montalcino, as well as leaving you time for some pampering or relaxation in the spa or swimming pool of the Agriturismo where you will be staying at the end of your day of cycling.
Part of the itinerary also overlaps with that of the Permanent Route of the Eroica, which will make this long cycling weekend even more legendary!
Are you a fan of adrenaline and beauty? The Tour of the Dolomites by mountain bike is the sports vacation for you! Providing the backdrop for days spent in the saddle are the breathtaking views of the Sexten Dolomites, Ampezzo Dolomites and Fanes-Sennes and Braies Nature Parks.
The route, which is circular, begins in Alta Pusteria and through Sesto and Sappada to Cadore. Once past Cortina, it then returns to Alta Pusteria and the starting point.
The route, designed especially for mountain biking, runs along old military roads and through the forest, as well as on MTB trails, for which no special technical skills are needed, but which still require familiarity with the vehicle, as well as the training necessary to deal with daily elevation changes, which in some stages exceed even 2,000 meters.
If, on the other hand, you are looking for spectacular new scenery in which to train in mild temperatures year-round, head straight for theAlgarve. This little gem in southern Portugal offers an incredible variety of landscapes over an area that corresponds to less than one-third of that of Italy, which is also why it has been discovering its cycling vocation in recent years.
L'itinerary that we recommend encapsulates all the best that the Algarve has to offer: quality accommodations, challenging hilly stages inland or along the rugged coastline, and the climb to the highest peak in the Monchique mountain range. Any non-cyclists who decide to travel with you can also spend their days relaxing on the beach or exploring the charming inland villages.
It starts from Vila Real de Santo António, a beautiful town that sits on the banks of the Guadiana River and in five bike stages between 70 and 100 km, you cross the region from east to west until you reach Cabo de São Vicente, the southwestern end of the European continent facing directly onto the immensity of the Atlantic. The journey ends in Loulé, a colorful market town where the relaxed atmosphere typical of Portugal reigns.
With that, we really hope we have been helpful to you in choosing your next adventure cycling and remember: on Cyclando.com you will find more than 800 routes throughout Europe, designed for every type of bike and every level of training. By choosing to travel in self-guided mode, in addition to well-planned stages and carefully selected accommodations, you can take advantage of the convenience of luggage transport and the peace of mind of on-site assistance, while still traveling completely independently, following your personal pace.
